Anglian, which supplies water and water recycling services to more than six million customers across the east of England and Hartlepool, closed its reservoirs to the public until June and limited customer home visits to emergency work during the pandemic. Controlled by a consortium of international investors, it is led by chief executive Peter Simpson, 53. Anglian’s bid to become a net-zero carbon emitter by 2030 includes the installation of solar power panels at a key operational site in Cambridgeshire, which will supply more than a quarter of its energy.
