When markets crashed in east Europe and Russia, Antal International, the recruitment agency, did not go down with them, despite the fact that it was originally focused on emerging markets. The London firm kept growing by re-orientating itself to the developed world and by moving further into west Europe. The developing world now accounts for just a quarter of Antal’s sales, with the firm supplying experienced staff to clients such as BMW, Coca-Cola and General Electric. Antal appears in the Fast Track 100 for the third year running, with annual sales up 95%, from £1.8m in 1996 to £13.2m in 1999.
