It would take a lot more than peeling linoleum to worry Apollo Group. The Essex-based company refurbishes, renovates and builds properties, including social housing, schools and hospitals throughout London and the southeast. It recently installed Britain’s biggest domestic green roof, planting the tops of 10 blocks of Lambeth’s Ethelred estate with sedum mats. Bank of Scotland bought out LDC in a £410m secondary buyout earlier this year, leaving chief executive Gary Couch at the helm. He oversaw annualised sales of £214.6m in 2007.
