This Staffordshire firm helped the NHS discharge patients and care for them at home at the start of the pandemic, freeing up hospital beds. It provides specialist care at home to people with complex medical needs, ranging from daily visits to round-the-clock care. Sourcing PPE and employees having to isolate have proved challenging, but it has continued to take on new patients. Founder and chief executive Phil Burrows, 46, was previously managing director of home healthcare company Advantage Healthcare, which was sold to Interserve for £26.5m in 2012. Apollo’s sales hit £17.7m last year.
