Formed in 1976, Apollo renovates, maintains and builds social housing, schools and hospitals. The government’s Decent Homes Scheme—a commitment to improve standards in social housing, has helped the group grow. It is one of Camden council’s two partners for a five-year, £413m refurbishment project. In August 2007, chief executive Gary Couch led a £410m secondary buyout backed by Bank of Scotland Corporate. In the year to March 2007, he oversaw annualised sales of £214.6m.
