Appsense designs software that makes thin-client networks run faster. These are networks where a central processor does all the computing and users have only a monitor and keyboard. Appsense ensures that users cannot run unlicensed software and also prevents a single person from hogging the computing power by running a giant program. Customers include Daimler Chrysler and the National Blood Service. Sales have grown 76% a year, from £1.1m in 2001 to £3.5m in 2003, when the company made a good profit.
