Sir Philip Green created one of Britain’s biggest fashion clothing retailers when he merged his BHS operations into the Arcadia business in 2009. The London company operates 2,500 of its own stores and 600 franchised outlets in 36 countries. It also owns Burton, Dorothy Perkins, Evans, Miss Selfridge and Wallis. Arcadia’s most successful brands are Topshop and Topman, which have expanded into America, with stores in New York, Chicago and Las Vegas. The company plans to open more in Asia, Australia and South Africa. Ian Grabiner is chief executive and reported sales of £2.7 billion in 2011, excluding joint ventures.
