Brothers Cormac and Patrick Byrne have spent more than three decades growing Ardmore Construction into a business with sales of £203.4m in 2006. The Enfield company builds commercial schemed and residential homes. Its clients include Laing and Barratt Homes. One of five construction and civil-engineering firms run by the Byrnes, it is hoping to pick up new contracts in the run-up to the 2012 Olympics. Ardmore Construction specialises in fixed-price tenders, drawing on in-house facilities, including three factories making prefabricated bathrooms and more than 400 diggers and dumper trucks.
