The league-winning Arsenal Ladies’ team have lately enjoyed more success than the squad managed by Arsène Wenger, but the board has promised new signings to add some big names to the Gunners’ young squad. The new Emirates stadium is second only to Old Trafford in capacity and many of the 700 flats developed on the old Highbury site have now been sold. Stan Kroenke and Alisher Usmanov have both recently increased their stakes in the company and led by chairman Peter Hill-Wood, sales from gate receipts, broadcasting rights, and property development grew to £222.5m in 2008.
