Handling 86.1m tons of cargo last year, ABP is a leading port operator with a network of 21 ports across Britain — these include Immingham, the nation’s busiest cargo port, and Southampton, the second largest container port and the most popular for cruises. It recorded operating profits of £285.5m in 2017, the largest on the league table, but it also has long-term debts of £4.6bn. Chief executive Henrik Pedersen, 43, took over in August.
