Attenda

When you order from Debenhams online, or book a car over the web from easyCar, Attenda helps to ensure that the site remains active and secure. The Surrey company also puts through thousands of dummy orders to test if the websites can cope with heavy traffic. Other customers include Sun Microsystems, Shell and Microsoft. Founded in 1997 by Simon Hansford, Mark Fowle, David Godwin and Neal Gandhi, Attenda has raised £29m in venture capital and hopes to be profitable within a year after large losses in 2002. Sales have grown 80% a year from £2.8m in 2000 to £9m in 2002.
