When organisations such as Universal Pictures, the BBC and Ogilvy need music for films or advertisements, they may turn to Audio Network. The company has 300 composers on its books, and in the past year has grown its library of music from 33,000 to 42,000 tracks. Crucially, it deals with tricky licensing issues, simplifying matters for producers. Audio Network was founded by Robert Hurst and Andrew Sunnucks and has 70 shareholders, including business angels and composers. It increased sales 42% a year from £2.2m in 2008 to £6.2m in 2011.
