Founded in 2000 as an engineering consultancy for seat design, Automotive Trim Developments received its first manufacturing order for office seat covers in 2002 and grew from there. The Coventry company now derives most of its sales from engineering and manufacturing leather seats and trim for top marques such as Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover and Bentley. It also makes seating for buses and coaches, trains and military vehicles. Founder Brett Townsend, 46, says that sales have grown because of referrals and bigger orders for seat covers on buses and trains before the London Olympics.
