This Twickenham company has moved from providing flipcharts and overhead projectors to supplying fully interactive plasma screens and video-conferencing systems. It now has more than 700 clients worldwide, including BP, Virgin Atlantic and J Sainsbury. AVM was bought by Interregnum in 2005 and changed ownership again in 2006, when Octopus Private Equity backed a buyout led by chief executive Edward Cook and chairman Sandy MacPherson. Acquisitions in 2007 and 2008, and increasing demand for video conferencing, have boosted sales 75% a year from an annualised £3.2m in 2005 to £17.2m in 2008.
