Axle Group Holdings

Trading through its subsidiaries National Tyres and Autocare, Axle group says it is the largest independent fast-fit tyre specialist in Britain, with a network of more than 210 branches. Its Viking International is also said to be the country’s largest tyre and autocare wholesaler, operating from nine warehouses, and stocking a wide range of tyres, including Bridgestone, Michelin and Pirelli, alongside budget options. Alan Revie, the group’s chairman, led the buyout team that paid £15m to the German parent of National in 2001, and turned a loss-making operation into a money spinner. Sales for the group reached £153.1m in 2009.
