This fashion retailer, which targets the 16-30 age group, had just three stores in 2001 but has 30 today. The expansion was accelerated in 2003 after the acquisition of the fashion retailer Hoss Ventures and conversion of its stores to the Bank name. Most growth has been created by moving beyond its base in northwest England to open new shops in cities from Southampton to Glasgow, increasing sales 70% a year, from £4.3m in 2001 to £21.2m in 2004. In April 2005, founder Andrew Scott and managing director Damian Scarlett led a £30m management buyout backed by Phoenix Equity Partners.
