This Bradford company stocks more than 80,000 tonnes of steel in 25 depots across Britain, which it supplies to the oil-and-gas and engineering industries. It also works in partnership with customers in the structural fabrication and construction markets and has its own transport fleet. Led by managing director James Barrett, the business set up an American division this year to serve the oil-and-gas sector in the Gulf of Mexico and Brazil. It has recently supplied steel for the Abu Dhabi pipeline project as well as for a new grandstand at Silverstone. Sales fell slightly to £197.1m in 2010, but profits were up 75% to £9.3m.
