Founded as a coachmaker in 1893, Dartford-based Beadles evolved into a car dealership in the early 1900s. It was family-owned until 1987, when it was sold to joint chairmen Peter Liddle and Paul Boast, both 69. Operating out of 13 branches in Kent, Essex and south London, it sells brands such as Kia, Jaguar, Land Rover and Skoda. Sales rose to £212m last year.
