Bell Microsystems helps organisations deal with a particularly thorny issue – disposal of old IT systems, while meeting environmental regulations and ensuring that sensitive data are totally removed so they don’t fall into the wrong hands. The Portsmouth company, founded by Alastair Bell, also designs and installs storage area networks to handle huge amounts of data for clients such as investment banks and telecoms companies. European exports and growing demand for data storage have helped boost sales 53% a year from £5.9m in 2003 to £13.9m in 2005.
