Bestway’s £100m acquisition of fellow cash-and-carry operator L Batley early in 2005 helped boost the year’s sales to £1,352m, which includes a £356m contribution from an associated company, Bestway Northern. The west London group, owned by the Pervez family and its management, also operates in Pakistan, where it has interests in cement and banking.
