Bibendum, which sells wines to customers including Michelin-starred restaurants, supermarkets and sporting venues, merged last year with off-trade wine supplier PLB Group and merchants Walker and Wodehouse Wines, to create this £233.8m turnover group, which operates with tight margins. Originally launched in a disused petrol station in London’s Primrose Hill, and still based in the capital, the business is led by chief executive Michael Saunders, 52.
