Bifold Fluidpower supplied valves for steamships and miners’ lamps in the 19th century. Today it makes valves and pumps for oil and gas rigs, refineries and pipelines, providing product support for more than 5,000 valves worldwide from its offices in Britain, Texas and Singapore. Managing director Gary Jacobson led a £35m buyout in 2007, backed by Bank of Scotland.
