The four businesses that make up BDML offer a range of insurance to cover pets, motorists and homeowners. The company says it has 860,000 policies in force, sold through household names such as Argos, Homebase and the RAC. Sales were boosted through the acquisition in February 2002 of Sabre Insurance, an underwriter for high-risk drivers. This year, the company announced a new partnership with Norwich Union and an extension of its partnership with the RAC. Sales have grown 119% a year from £7.4m in 2000 to £78.4m in 2003, and profits are strong.
