Founded in 2004 by physics graduate Greg Isbister, 37, Blismedia initially developed bluetooth devices for outdoor advertising. Isbister used cash from selling part of the business in 2006 to build a platform to automate the buying and selling of digital ad space using location and demographic data. This now provides targeted ads for the likes of Unilever and reaches 700m devices a month, tracking 1.7bn location-based data points every day. Sales in 2014 hit £8m.
