Bloor Investments is made up of three businesses: Derbyshire-based Bloor Homes, which builds more than 2,400 homes a year in England and Wales; Pickerings, a plant hire company; and Triumph, the iconic Leicestershire motorbike maker that chairman John Bloor, 73, bought in 1983 and which is now led by his son Nick, 39. Building more new homes, with higher selling prices supported by a favourable housing market, helped increase the firm’s sales by 8% last year.
