Bloor Holdings is made up of two distinct businesses. The first is Bloor Homes, which was founded by John Bloor in 1969 and now builds 1,800 homes a year in England and Wales. The second is Triumph, the iconic motorbike maker that he bought in 1983 and which is now led by his son Nick. Half of the Derbyshire group’s revenues come from sales of the 50,000 motorbikes it makes each year at factories in Britain and Thailand. It plans to expand into Brazil and India this year. A good performance in both parts of the group boosted sales 4% to £655m in 2011.
