Johnson Diversity can work out the profitability of its customers and products since it had SAP software installed by this London IT consultancy. Four co-founders, including chief executive James Appleby, put in £5,000 of seed capital to start the firm in 2002. Since then Bluefin has won 50 clients, including BAT, Yell and United Utilities. Offices on three continents allow the firm to offer 24-hour customer support. Sales are up 75% a year from £2.1m in 2005 to £11.3m in 2008.
