Simon and Bobby Arora bought B&M Bargains from Phildrew Ventures for an undisclosed sum in 2004, when it was a chain of 21 stores. Four years on, the company has more than 135 stores across Britain selling mainly groceries and health and beauty products at discounted prices. It says it has opened one new store a week during 2009. With more than 1.5m shopper visits a week, the stores also sell everything from toys and clothing to soft furnishings and electrical goods. Sales at the Blackpool company almost doubled to £255.9m in 2008.
