Brothers Simon and Bobby Arora bought this discount retail chain in 2005, when it ran just 21 stores in the northwest of England. They acquired former DIY, Kwik Save and Woolworths premises and now have 205 high-street and retail park outlets, selling everything from groceries and beauty products to toys, clothing and electrical goods. B&M has new £24m headquarters and warehouse facilities in Liverpool to support its store-opening programme, running at one a week. Sales increased by 67% to £426.7m in 2009.
