BOCM PAULS (Agricola Group)

This group claims to be Britain’s largest animal-feed manufacturer and is due to be bought by Dutch group ForFarmers for €85m, subject to EU approval. Based in Ipswich, BOCM Pauls (Agricola Group) is the result of the 1992 merger of Pauls Agriculture and BOCM Silcock. The business has 23 sites around the country producing more than 2.5m tonnes of feed a year, and trades with more than 3,000 sustainable farms. Profits have increased by 50% a year, from £4.5m in 2007 to £15.1m in 2010 under chief executive Bill Mayne.
