With a fleet of 39 helicopters, Bond Aviation Group flies workers to offshore drilling rigs for companies such as BP, Conoco Phillips and Maersk, and provides support for the emergency services on and offshore. The company was formed in 1999, when brothers Stephen and Peter Bond bought a division from Norway’s Helicopter Services Group, which had acquired their family’s original helicopter business in 1996. The company grew significantly from 2004 when it won a big contract with BP. Profits increased 90% a year from £2.3m in 2006 to £15.6m in 2009.
