In March, chief executive Paul Flaum, 49, urged the government to help support his company’s 10,000 seasonal staff and other hospitality workers if the summer season was lost to coronavirus restrictions. With yesterday’s relaxation of those restrictions its resorts are reopening, with Haven in England from July 6 and Warner Leisure Hotels from July 27. It has yet to confirm when Butlins will reopen. In June, it borrowed a £300m emergency loan from the Bank of England.
