Box Telematics, or telemetry, means measuring data remotely. The wire-free boxes developed by this Midlands company are monitoring devices that allow users to send and receive data from equipment that has been sited in remote locations. The technology is widely employed in vehicle tracking and is also used by big pub chains to monitor beer quality – checking the temperature of kegs in the cellar, for example. Founder and executive chairman June Reynolds-Lacey – who previously set up two other companies, Mobilefone Group and NSH Techlogistics – still owns the business outright. Its sales rose_x000D_
72% a year from £1.2m in 2003 to £3.5m in 2005.
