Scotland’s largest independent brewery launched a world record £25m crowdfunding appeal in April and hit the £10m mark in October. The craft beer company, whose recent offerings include gluten-free Vagabond pale ale, exports to more than 50 countries and has opened bars as far afield as Brazil and Japan. It is now targeting America, with plans for five bars and a brewery. Sales reached £29.6m last year under the leadership of founders James Watt and Martin Dickie, both 33. They have used television shows in America and Europe to celebrate and promote the making of craft beers.
