Elliot Dawes, 33, and Adam Rossiter, 32, teamed up at the University of Essex, and with £6,000 borrowed from their parents launched this sports nutrition business in 2004. The firm originally imported supplements from the US, but in 2006 it introduced its BULK POWDERS own-brand range, which it manufactures at its plant in Colchester. Products are sold directly to the consumer via 13 e-commerce sites, with just under a third of its £10.7m sales generated from mainland Europe last year. Sales are forecast to more than double to £26m in 2016, as it expands its international operations and rolls out its second London Underground advertising campaign.
