Burton’s Biscuit Company

Burton’s produces numerous favourite snacks including Jammie Dodgers and Wagon Wheels from its three bakeries in Britain. It also makes Cadbury’s chocolate biscuits under licence. Founded in 1829 in Staffordshire by George Burton, the firm underwent a £308m debt-for-equity swap in 2009, and majority ownership moved from Duke Street Capital to the Canadian bank CIBC and Apollo Global Management.
