Based in South Wales, BVG sells more than 20,000 items, including sports nutrition, clothing, household goods and fishing tackle, via adverts in the national press and 20m mail order catalogues distributed each year. It sends 1.8m orders a year from its Lancashire distribution centre to customers across Europe and farther afield, helping exports to hit £3.5m in 2014. The business is led by chief executive Iain Burgess, 43, and backed by BGF, which invested £10m this month.
