Inspired by their travels across Brazil, restaurateurs Jamie Barber, 43, and David Ponté, 50, set up this Brazilian barbecue chain in 2011. They now have six restaurants across London, including a 300-seater at the O2, and launched their latest eatery, in Leeds, in November. In July, Cabana raised £3m from high-profile backers including Saracens owner Nigel Wray, French Connection founder Stephen Marks and gastronome Loyd Grossman, which will help to fund five new sites in 2015. Cabana fans include Oprah Winfrey and boy band JLS, and the company’s cookbook has sold 35,000 copies since May. Sales reached £4.4m last year and are forecast to double to £8m in 2014.
