Camelot has run the national lottery since it began in 1994. The Watford group designs, manages and markets the lottery in partnership with 30,000 retailers nationwide. In March 2010, the business was bought by Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan for £389m. The group chief executive is Dianne Thompson and sales are net of duty, payouts to winners and good causes.
