Capper & Co started as a grocer in 1901 and remains in family hands. It supplies more than 450 convenience stores trading under the Spar fascia. Over 100 of these are owned by Capper and located along the M4 corridor and in the southeast. The outlets are serviced from two distribution centres: South Wales, site of the headquarters, and Hastings, East Sussex. Under Bill Capper’s chairmanship, sales in 2008 reached £274.1m.
