Founder and chairman of Car Giant, Geoffrey Warren reckons he pioneered the car supermarket when he formed Europe’s largest car supermarket back in 1977. The company’s site is equivalent to 11 Wembley stadiums and holds up to 5,000 vehicles in stock, employing 600 people, many from the local community. With prices that it says are on average 3% below those of trade guides, sales continued to grow in 2006 to £318.1m. The credit crunch may offer new challenges in 2008.
