Tatty Teddy is the star of the Me to You brand that was launched by Carte Blanche in 1995. The grey bear with the blue nose has since appeared on greeting cards, T-shirts, and as a soft toy. Last year the company licensed Eeyore from Disney, and began producing a new range of gift products. This year, Tatty Teddy will be joined by new characters Teddy Bigfoot and Bobble, the little blue owl on products sold through Clinton Cards and independent gift shops. Economies of scale and strong sales have boosted the company’s profits, which grew 88% a year from £1.8m in 2000 to £11.7m in 2003.
