Claiming to serve between 15m and 16m customers each year, Caspian UK Group is one of the country’s largest Burger King franchise operators. It runs 56 drive-through and high-street outlets, mainly in southern England and up to the Midlands. It was founded in Surrey in 1993 by accountant Taji Nader Zadeh, and acquisitions such as the 2004 purchase of food and motors group Gowrings for £9.6m have helped the business expand. Sales grew 64% a year from £9.5m in 2004 to £41.8m in 2007.
