Cath Kidston’s range of homeware, bags and clothing in distinctive signature prints are favourites with Asian customers. Some 123 of the retailer’s 205 shops are in that region, and last year it invested in an Asian distribution centre and bought 27 of its Japanese stores from its franchise partner. It also opened its first stores in Saudi Arabia. Under chief executive Kenny Wilson, 49, international sales rose to £33.7m in 2015.
