Tech Track 100

When GlaxoSmithKline submits a new product for approval by the Food and Drug Administration in America, it may need up to 600,000 pages of supporting documentation. This explains the success of CDC Solutions, which develops software that enables life-sciences and pharmaceutical companies to automate the production of such documents.

Founded in 1994 by David Cornwell and Jim Cook, the company recently attracted third-round venture-capital funding of £11m. Sales increased 118% a year from £632,000 in 1998 to £3m in 2000, when it made a loss.

This profile reflects the company at time of publication and does not reflect any changes that may have subsequently occurred. Fast Track and its sponsors do not endorse, guarantee or recommend investment in any of the companies.
