This explains the success of CDC Solutions, which develops software that enables life-sciences and pharmaceutical companies to automate the production of such documents.
Founded in 1994 by David Cornwell and Jim Cook, the company recently attracted third-round venture-capital funding of £11m. Sales increased 118% a year from £632,000 in 1998 to £3m in 2000, when it made a loss.
