This North Yorkshire company claims it designed and manufactured more than 250,000 LCD television sets last year, and expects this to rise to 300,000 in 2009. Its televisions are sold by the likes of John Lewis and Staples, and the company also makes own-brand products for Next and Marks & Spencer. Led by chief executive Brian Palmer, Cello Electronics is developing a television with the ability to stream programmes from the BBC iPlayer and ITV Player. Sales have grown 65% a year from £7.6m in 2006 to £33.8m in 2009.
