Center Parcs attracts 1.5m visitors a year to its four holiday villages in peaceful woodland settings around the country, and plans to build another in Bedfordshire. The company is also investing £60m in building a range of luxury lodges to keep accommodation up to modern standards. Center Parcs was listed on the stock market until private-equity firm Blackstone bought it for £205m in 2006. Sales reached £253.2m in 2007 under chief executive Martin Dalby.
