Founded in 1987 by accountant Andrew Turner and his wife Sharon, Central Trust acts as an intermediary between the borrowing public and banks such as Lloyds TSB and Barclays, broking loans and mortgages. Benefiting from the housing boom and a surge in borrowing, the Norwich firm says that it now fields 35,000 customer inquiries a month. Sales have grown by more than 82% from £6.6m in 1999 to £39.9m in 2002, when it made significant profits.
