Founder Charlotte Tilbury, 46, make-up artist to celebrities such as Kate Moss, launched her eponymous cosmetics and skincare line in 2013. The digital-first brand is recognised for its innovation and it has won numerous marketing awards. The London-based company sells in 76 markets, has shops in London and the Middle East, and opened in Los Angeles and Hong Kong this summer. It also sells through retailers such as TMall Global in Asia, and Nordstrom and Bloomingdale’s in North America. Last year, Sephora shops in the US, Canada and Europe began selling the products, which helped total sales reach £145.4m — they are expected to hit £215m by the end of this year. In that period it recorded £4.8m in earnings before interest, tax, amortisation, depreciation and exceptional items, but an operating loss.
