Chief executive Michele Harriman-Smith, 66, has transformed the clothes shop founded in 1952 by her mother, Sybil, into a global online retailer of designer childrenswear. Websites in seven languages sell clothing from 280 brands, including Armani, Burberry and Gucci, to customers in 160 countries. The company is headquartered near its original site in Tunbridge Wells, but generated 85% of sales abroad in 2017, resulting in exports of £66.8m.
